Not really as far as I have learned from our history books other than minor conflicts with countries outside of the middle east it seems like the middle east it self was not "hating and killing each other far longer than the US has been even a country" couldn't find any sources on the matter other than some other bafoons such as yourself saying that it was broken before we touched it and, the wikipedia page is basically the same they also have this disclaimer " Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone at any time. This means that any information it contains at any particular time could be vandalism, a work in progress, or just plain wrong. ... Wikipedia generally uses reliable secondary sources, which vet data from primary sources." So... yeah shit went downhill after the so called war on terror led by the US.
