Had an idiot middle manager when I was in the Army.

We were MPs so already doing shift work.

The desired schedule was 5 on 2 off. You occasionally lost a day due to regular Army shenanigans.

This asshat comes in talking about the glorious 12 hour shift. His fever dream was 4 and 3. Never mind that 48 hours in four days is already more than 40 hours in five. Despite his position in middle management he believed we'd get those three days off.

Spoiler: we mostly did not.

So what's a lowly group of peons to do? Well absolutely anything and everything that could be done discreetly during work was now done at work.

I was moving from the barracks to an apartment. I like to think I peaked when during the darkness of night I completed my entire move and set up using nothing but my patrol car and laundry baskets.
