To conservatives, Islam is a religion of hate.

Quran 9:5 And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists (Pagans) wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Now I understand it says to preach to them and allow them the opportunity to convert but if you don't, what the Quran says to do to that person is still clear.

Islam is about growing the faith and if they won't convert, enslave them or kill them. I will concede I have not read the entire Quran, nor am I religious at all. I would be willing to learn if someone has something to teach me though. I am a believer of "treat people how you want to be treated" and "live and let live".
