different frat stereotypes

Fraternities* (frat is a derogatory term)

Formal rush will allow you to meet them all.

I’d say stereotyping them is not a good idea due to the size of “Big Greek” chapters (stereotyping anything is not good). We are talking well over 100 men in these chapters which means there are as many respective personalities.

Some have more of a country vibe and it will be obvious.

Keep in mind that we are in Texas so hunting and fishing are popular among many guys in every fraternity. Cowboy hats will likely only be seen in a few on the other hand.

You will see a lot of variety within all the big fraternities.

I rushed in 2013 and a lot has changed since then but I would say that rushing things are relatively the same (they might have cracked down on alcohol during rush week though).

My advice is go in with an open mind and meet them all. Find the group of guys you want to spend a few years with. Pick the fraternity with the guys you see yourself spending and wanting to spend time with over four years.

Tech is going to be the best time of your life.

Best of luck and wreck em!
