Different responses to disclosure

I have HSV2 and just got out of a 5 year relationship. He was the first person I dated after contracting it, and we took our physical relationship slow (my first time ever doing that) so he was already into me and was willing to risk it.

But I had to tell someone today, for the first time in 5 years, before we were scheduled to meet up tonight. And I was terrified. BUT he was super cool about it! He thanked me for being so open about it and asked a few questions. He decided it's a lot to swallow at the moment and we should postpone, but he "still definitely wants to fuck" me once he's had time to get his head around it. I was expecting it to be so much worse, but the stigma is 100x worse than the reality, and he agreed with that.

I just want to reiterate that everybody needs to disclose with potential partners. And that it's NOT THAT BAD! Just be casual and informative, provide info, and let them decide. It will be okay.
