EVERYTHING about that convoy of troglodytes in Ottawa was moronic. I have family who live in downtown Ottawa and multiple members of the flu trux klan defecated on their front porch. The claims that “most people were respectful” fall on deaf ears when the amount of nazi symbols was more than zero. Every individual who made a conscious decision to associate with a movement that had its start with ACTUAL RACISTS loses the right to justify anything. Living two hours away myself; I was subject to the barrage of “the media won’t show how big this movement is” Facebook posts. The attempt to mobilize the right in Canada has been taken directly from the Trump playbook right down to targeting people who either can’t or won’t get informed and search out alternate opinions. And having watched how the aftermath of Jan 6th played out I’m expecting the political divide to keep expanding.
