[DiMarzio] Sporting has accepted a €55 million bid from Manchester City for Bruno Fernandes

I'm not patronizing you but for the kind of experience you quote for yourself, you surprise me.

The discussion is whether City are generally net spenders, and they absolutely are.

That's not what the discussion is but that's how you'd like to frame it, that a club's transfer spending should only be justified by an equal or close amount of player sales in the same window. That's simply not true. It doesn't have to be.

And if you want to make a financial judgement, you can't ignore accounting. You can't concoct terms like netspend and start calling out clubs when the aforementoned clubs (City, Liverpool, Huddersfield) operate with certain accounting concepts like amortization.

You make a lot of vague assumptions like how much City's wage budget is, please produce some document. Obviously both FA and UEFA have financial documents from all clubs and none of these clubs are called out on violations yet.

City have an investigation for infringes from some 8 years ago but that's got nothing to do with this.
