Dinnerbone on Twitter: We aren't dropping support for Mac/Linux. Mac is getting its own native launcher hopefully in about a month.

Opensource software is often incredibly expensive for a large organization to use or deploy, not to mention lacks features, and isn't updated as quickly.

Utter bullshit. In the 4 years I've been using OpenOffice, it's gotten more updates and bugfixes than Microsoft Word did over 7 years of me using it.

Anecdotal much? But I meant that problems don't get fixed as quickly. Sure OpenOffice may have had more bug fixes, but that's cause it's got a shitload more bugs.

Why the hell do you think no large organization uses Linux desktops

TIL Google Inc. doesn't exist

TIL you can't comprehend the difference between 99% of large organizations and one of the largest software companies in the world.

no one wants to use Libreoffice

Everyone I know who's tried LibreOffice or OpenOffice (what microsoft's ad was actually attacking) has loved it and never switched back. People only buy microsoft office because they think they have no choice.

Again, straight anecdotal. Everyone I've tried to get to use OpenOffice has absolutely hated it and ended up buying Microsoft Office. So there, now you've got equally strong anecdotal evidence against your opinion.

It would be more like Coke running an ad saying, "Hey, Pepsi seems great, but most users don't actually like it and you're probably not going to save much money by switching to it".

Pfft, be honest with yourself. Is that really the air that microsoft's ad gave off?

Yes, because I'm not a rabid Microsoft hater, but here's some more realworld stories of people who have regretted going OpenSource:
