Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island, upcoming Metal Gear Solid) got to play Death Stranding and shared his thoughts.

One thing I really admire about Kojima is genuine enthusiasm for storytelling, which is so often visible from his Twitter page and how he talks of pop culture. It clearly shows in his work too.

From what I've heard, he apparently really likes to 'betray the audience's expectations' (or something like that). From personal experience, Kojima's stories are particularly eccentric yet meaningful and special to me, often going against how I process the story.

It leaves me really curious to know what Kojima's thought process is. His games say a lot about that (and congrats to the other individuals who worked on those games too), but I'm really interested in how he manages to create such stories.
