The director of The Witcher does an AMA in her most critical fan sub. One user gets hurt and upset over its success, and claims it was just a publicity stunt to make her look good

But...to be fair, I watched an interview with Pahlaniuk just last night, and the interviewer implied that he was alla bout these themes, and Pahlaniuk seemed to think that was David Finchers angle, and that he was writing about being confused about who he was INTERNALLY, a consumer, or a fighter, a man, or a boy, a Tyler, or not. He didn't really put any emphasis on this angle y'all are pushing, but he did mention the wanting to destroy something beautiful about losing Tyler's BEST friendship, didn't say anything about sexuality, he implied it was more base, like "Hey, that's MY buddy! WE started this!" not due to attraction though, due to idealism, like Tyler was his savior.

I dunno, I've heard so many interviews with Fincher and chuck that I just give up trying to decipher it, I mean, Chuck himself has given so many interviews where he slightly contradicts his previous statement, I almost starting to think he rolls it with the times, to keep it relevant and guess what? SELL more copies lol...

But have a good one, all I know is that I watched that movie in my youth, and the only thing I walked away with was "That movie was special." and "Damn, never befriend a Tyler, EVER!" I had a couple buddies that tought the fight scenes were cool, but I don't think they dug into the story much, like they saw fight, they liked fight, they buy movie.

I recall watching it with my brother, and after it was over he was like "So the brad pitt guy killed the other guy before the movie started, and it was all his dream, but he didn't die and has a hole in his face now from the other timeline? "

And I was like "Bro, lay off the fkn rick and morty dude..."

So like, waht you get out of the movie, another person just see's a fight and tuned out the speech while chekcing their FB - so they might think it was a "cool" movie about fighting, I can see that. The exposition and dialogue alone int hat move, requires more than one watch for many people.
