Maybe I'm using the term incorrectly. What I mean is that characters are so strong that it has effectively left fights to only consist of insane energy blasts. It's like in DBZ, at some point when everyone can destroy mountains destroying mountains is no longer impressive, and since the power levels are so obscene, the "weaker stuff" introduced before are no longer used and thus irrelevant. When almost every enemy you fight uses similar skills (energy blasts) and the same displays are used to demonstrate strength, then fights become progressively more bland and boring. Characters can still be like Gods, but you have to do it in a way that keeps fights diverse and interesting. ToG is heading in the direction of series like Naruto, bleach, and DBZ; where all everyone does is blow up shit with energy blasts.
