Disco Elysium will now run on very low-spec machines

Not that I find it as bad game or want to bait like OP did, but my feeling too was it's more a mix of adventure and visual novel, than RPG game. Let me explain - my expectations were something like Fallout 2 without combat. But in reality not even close.

The main difference? For all the fancy stat names they are just mostly way to unlock extra flavor dialogues, rather to have completely different playtrough. This is kinda what good visual novels do, like Steins Gate for one. Granted in VNs you just pick different set of dialogue options, without whole leveling stats thing, but this is what main focus of DE is. Dialogues. Rather huge breathing world you can explore and interact with.

Adventure part is obviously objects you interact with or have to figure out how to interact with by using other items.

I still can see the appeal but I didn't felt the "freedom" most RPG titles I did play gave me. And since there isn't genre that describes such games I can only pick ones that came close. VN and point and click adventure.
