Discord and Donald, We've officially launched The_Donald Discord

I recently attempted to join the Discord for /r/the_donald that was mentioned in the Centipede Central server, along with my of my friends from the server in question. We figured it would be a good place to continue the fight against the radical left.

Upon joining, I read over the rules and went to the Extreme_Vetting channel. I followed the rules as laid out by Based with regards to needing to join the server(linking my Reddit account to my Discord account). I was then told, quote, "not enough post history in the sub" and was kicked from the server. When I asked Based how long I would need to be active on the subreddit, he said the requirement was, quote, "a month of activity is the standard the sub mods set." At the time this thread was not up, nor was the post regarding a month of activity being necessary.

This is ridiculous. I have been on the same pro-Trump Discord server that Based has been administrating for months, and have been an active member of the community. I have not been banned or kicked for any form of misbehaving, nor have I attempted to intentionally foster anything other than negative discussion.

I do not post about politics with this or any other Reddit account because I feel that with the blatant abuse showcased by the Reddit moderating staff towards conservatives, discussion regarding the political right and occurrences going on within the Trump supporting community, this is hardly a safe platform when something arguably the slightest bit controversial comes up.If the Discord is going to follow the same rules as this subreddit, that threat is still hanging over our heads. I've had one of the moderators of the new server openly state that 'thought policing' will be occurring on the server in question.

You guys need to either remove the month long limit and maintain the subreddit-esque ruleset, dealing with shills/concern trolls/etc. the same way they're dealt with here, or keep the month long limit and significantly free up the 'thought policing'-like rules. As is, people who will be contributors will be turned away at the gates because of your unnecessarily extreme vetting limits, and people who can be contributors will not contribute for fear of breaking one or more of the rules you have in play. This will lead to the server drying up and people going to the 'unofficial' server instead.

I highly recommend waiting for alterations to the vetting procedures before considering joining the Discord. I also recommend to the mods that the vetting procedures be heavily altered, as the way they currently stand is unhealthily restrictive. This will only risk driving a wedge between the pro-Trump community already on Discord and any newcomers who do join the new server.
