The main channel of the MHOC discord is genuinely awful place and we are all to blame.

I'm on my way out so I'll keep this short but in my time with MHOC I've seen all sides of discussion. MHOC is full of lovely, kind and genuine people who I have the utmost respect for, this of course doesn't apply to all of MHOC though. I've met a lot of malicious, stubborn and at the end of the day bad people too, I will of course not name names but we all know who I'm talking about. I hope at least.

There's a big difference between a joke and being malicious, we all have a go at people for a laugh, bad stuff, taken out of context, is said constantly. We're all guilty of this, myself especially, but at the end of the day it's all a laugh and everyone ends the day on good terms with each other. But I've been in a lot of instances where that's simply not the case. Whether it's the Troubles or any other touchy subject there is a serious lack of respect, empathy or compassion within MHOC main.

These are problems that cannot be fixed overnight but we require a conceited effort from the moderation team to curb this trend and repair these problems. Be it a warning system, removal of members from main chat or the closure of MHOC main. At the end of the day this is a game and if we have to sit ourselves down and make sure we're not telling people to kill themselves or not make fun of peoples dead family members then there is something seriously wrong.
