Discovering the mirrorverse

But I don’t get it. How is it doing it wrong to express our gender as we have naturally through all history? What qualitative harm does this cause? Is there any evidence that complete gender-relativism is a good thing? Is there any proof that it has a benefit to society? I would like an example of actual harm having a girl wear pink could cause, assuming she isn’t one of the .003% of the population that is trans. Should we really raise all children under the assumption they belong to a >1% minority?

For 99% of people, their gender expression and identity match their biological gender and appearance. It is a non-issue, and I certainly wouldn’t call it oppressive. In fact, I would feel oppressed if someone told me I was being forced to reconcile all of your ideas about gender and disregard my own.

It just seems like your position is couched in emotion with very little reason. I am trying to push you to actually flesh out your argument but you just come back with these content-less one liners that are effectively trying to end the discussion. It seems like you don’t actually want to be confronted with reasonable challenges to your position.

I don’t think there is anything oppressive about having a female child wear clothes that match her biological gender expression. I think the absolute wrong move is allowing a child to make executive level decisions about their identity expression, at an age where they don’t even know how to not shit their pants. Next you are gonna tell me we should let kids name themselves Frankenstein and wear a superhero costume in public. Part of being a good parent is equipping your child with a culturally competent identity that they may engage with other members of their culture with a shared language and identity.
