A loved one passed away recently and I inherited their guitar. Some parts of it are quirky enough that I'm fairly certain it was modded at some point, but it's old enough that the serial number is mostly illegible. I'm pretty sure they bought it used at some point so it might be as old as the late 80s or early 90s. My question is this: do you have any tips for research into old Ibanez guitars? I'm 95% sure it's some type of RG and that the color is desert sun yellow, but I'm curious about trying to narrow anything down beyond that. It has a reverse headstock and HSS pickup, but the neck pickup is some type of hot rail, which I assume is not stock.
