[Discussion] Is anyone else happy about the inactivity lockouts in the new updates too?

I've often said that a vote-kick system would be wildly abused, so I agree with other posters on that.

However, not being one to criticize without trying to offer a solution, here goes:

Bungie's matchmaking system should track total damage done in a strike, or total kills (but total damage would be more indicative of the truth).

Based on that information, guardians who are chronic abusers of the system would always show as 0 damage, or close to 0 damage. For instance, someone with 5 kills in a strike obviously wasn't really participating unless they have like 50 assists. That's why damage tracking might be better. If they have 5 kills and 1 assist, they are probably not doing a lot of damage, and are either guilty of having to go AFK real quick, or just letting other people carry them. So it's OK once or twice, but after that it becomes a problem and they should be punished.

Once a user shows that they are not capable of actively participating in a strike, they should then only be matched with other people like them. This would be a tiered system. They should remain matched with the other guardians like them until their strike stats have improved.

Also, barring nightfall activities, weekly heroics, raids and things like that, contributing below a certain amount of damage should exclude guardians from receiving rewards at the end of a strike.

The only thing this wouldn't solve would be the people who farm materials (but I haven't seen one of them in a long time).

Guardians who only contribute the bare minimum would be grouped with others like them. AFKers would only be grouped with others like them. Elite guardians would only be grouped with each other. There you go, problem mostly solved.
