votes/comments/etc
“something something validation" Some people would care less and personally Ive always found the obsession with votes a little strange. I check my inbox and respond to whatever is there and move on. You shouldn't be staring at things waiting for them to go up or down. If you want to stress yourself out then sure you do that. As for votes and whatnot, I think comments are the best. The number doesn't matter, its about quality over quantity. People don't want to be repetitive/they are just around to get off/they have nothing to say and often times this is why they say nothing at all. Sometimes there really isn't anything to say.
In comments/pms don't be a jerk and don't talk to people like they owe you something. It’s never too late to say you enjoyed something though, a simple "that was great" goes a long way.
Loyal commenters are fantastic. Its not creepy, it is a fan base situation or someone that enjoys the back and forth you two have. If you create content, you should be happy about a repeat customer. You are sharing something. Be thankful they enjoy it and make the effort to come back.
listeners and performers
A vote is their feedback if you get nothing else. There are often posts about getting listeners/lurkers more involved with the community, what bothers me is people get involved because they want to. You can't really force them. Then you have the people that do decide to get involved that comment and get no response, that do someone's script and get no response from the writer, then they quit. The people already here need to be more involved. Its a 50/50 relationship. You only deserve back what you put in.
performing / persona
People should never feel they cant do something because of a "persona." Its your account, do whatever you want. Be whatever you want. What people here do is about losing themselves in their own world, their own character, no one should put them in one box and not allow them to step out.
I would never make something Im not personally a little into. I may dip my toes in something else one day but 98% of whatever I would make would be things I enjoy. Speaking of that, Ive always thought it would be fun to make something about cannibalism. Maybe one day I will.
collaborations
"hey I have an idea (give a few details) would you be interested in collabing with me?"
editing, tags, and writing
It depends on how much you care about your script/audio. Some are an easy 5 minutes, others are 3 hours+, sometimes days.
I would love to see more original content. [whispers][gagged][creampie] are some of my favorite tags, but GWA needs more [humor] and [fantasy] based things.
voices
I do like listening to sfw rambles. Hearing voices in their normal state. Its more about the personality in the voice than the tone/pitch of the voice for me though.
advice
Be happy with what you do and do it because you want to. Join when you are ready, post when you are ready, comment when you are ready. Be nice and people will be nice to you. Dont compare yourself to other creators. Dont respond to assholes. Be safe, not just from lurkers but from other users as well.
