[Discussion] Late med student withdrawals

Hey I see your point honestly. Some of us are genuinely passionate about medicine (lol my username). I have seen some really passionate, caring, hardworking people end up reapplying and or not going into medical school. These people are really really aching to be doctors to help people. It IS frustrating when those who go into medicine because their parents made them, for money etc are selected over those who really want to be there. I feel like schools can generally detect these people, but there are still plenty of talented, smart, caring people who get rejected every year.

I agree that this person did deserve their spot and that it's great that they decided to find a new path. However, for those of us who are really fighting for these spots and who genuinely want to be physicians, this type of thing is definitely frustrating.
