I did it last week, cringed so hard thinking about it: met this guy and a bunch of other chinese people at a photography exposition. My friend asks him where he got his clothes (my friend was genuinely appreciative) and i see this chinese guy wearing v2s and i step into the conversation like: “man, where did you get those? Taobao?” He looks at me and says: “no i waited in line at the official store to get them, i only buy gen stuff”. Now i just realized i almost exposed a repfam (cause they were fake 100%) so instead of playing it cool i just say “i’d never do that, the resell/raffle is just not worth it imo”. Then i realized i just exposed myself to my other friend so i just compliment the guy and i turn around trying to speak to someone else.
