And now, since this will be my last musical post dealing with me.... I will defend. And /u/Evan7979 you are probably going to regret 'defending' me...

ONE: If you were to take a Henry Mancini or Burt Bacharach Book and just play it on a Casio Privia in Garage Band it is going to sound a lot different, than when you full orchestrate the songs. With voice and drums and instruments.

TWO: Root Seventh chords which are not in all 60 pieces. Can easily be orchestrated. A unique MELODY cannot. Think of them as place holders for the MELODY. Which cannot be changed or easily altered.

THREE: If I play Jingle Bells with root position chords it will be a little boring I grant, you but its still Jingle Bells Then if a master of jazz comes along and plays the harmony with amazing chords progression and scales and makes it sound like a carnival of pure amazement.
What happens? You leave thinking "WOW! That was a good version of Jingle Bells" You don't really remember the harmony as much as the melody.

This really hammers in my mind that people aren't getting it. They HAVE to HEAR it.

You are just dismissing the MELODY, which IS MUSIC

You are missing the ENTIRE point of these. The seventh chords are like the lead sheet. Remember I am composing these once a DAY.

I give up....

And rather than focus on others, create your own stuff and look inward.

Good luck.
