[DISCUSSION] No Stupid Questions Thread II 2020 - Fall into Winter.

Any advice to get started again? Here's the backstory. I took maybe 2 years of lessons back when I was 15 or so(27 now). I lost interest because my teacher was very by the book (not learning any songs, just principles) and because I really wanted a zakk wylde bullseye guitar but couldn't get it (childish I know).

Since I'm an adult and can do what I want now, my goal is to learn guitar and buy myself that zakk wylde guitar. But I do not know how to get started.

I would definitely be interested in being self-taught, or at least not going anywhere for lessons. I have a salaried job so I work anywhere from 7 am to 5 pm, and with being married with two kids, there is literally no time for lessons.

So I guess what I'm looking for would be two things: An idea of what guitar to buy to learn on. It would probably have to be quiet (electric with headphones?), since I'll be practicing while the kids are asleep. And The best resources out there nowadays to learn. I actually still have my books from 12 years ago but playing Yankee Doodle 100 times might kill my motivation again.

My ultimate goal would be to learn my all time favorite song, Ain't No Rest For The Wicked.

Any advice would be great.
