We lack depth.

We overpaid for Hummels imo and no, the Götze deal doesn't make the fee equal 0 because Götze wasn't even supposed to go to Dortmund initially. That was only Rode, slightly hacking down the price.

We got Sanches as well which I'm really happy about but this window leaves for something to be desired.

We lack depth, more specifically up front. Sounds weird, let me explain.

Ribery - I think he'll be fit for most the season if I'm honest. He "only" had an ankle problem he completely got over and wasn't suffering from muscle injuries lie many others in the squad. But there's always the possibility regardless.

Robben - already going to miss the rest of pre season and a few games of the regular season as well. Will probably get injured at another point too.

Costa - aggravated thigh. Will miss most of the next month. Sometimes has form issues and muscle injures can creep back up. Especially with us.

Coman - a teenager.

That already covers the full extent of our "pure" wing options.

The only serviceable subs for them are Renato and to a lesser extent Müller. But for Müller on the wing the entire game plan has to be changed.

Luckily Lewandowski and Müller are never injured.

Now imagine trying to rotate with that few options - because we have few to no one to properly do that with, if someone gets injured.
