Discussion Thread - The Rise of Skywalker - WEEK 5 - ALL MOVIE TALK HERE

I was watching The Revenge of the Sith and comparing with all the sequels in terms of story, plot, immersion and what it was allowed in that movie. For today's PC world that movie would definitely be R-RATED 1000%. The scene between Anakin and Obi-Wan is incredible for today's standards. Anakin had his two legs and his arm dismembered, his whole body burns into flames. His scorched body is all exposed. The scene with the droids attaching new cybernetic limbs on him, shows his pain, he screams in agony. Today this scene would be all of screen with the sound of Anakin screams muffled, If they showed a little bit of this. This ROTS has nothing epic. All the good visuals seems to be a huge waste. They had all the tools to bring awesomeness to this. The lore , everything. But they seemed to be afraid of taking any decisions to obscure Rey's light, which for that real fans is none. ZERO. Her character is empty, flat, has no arc. The virtual signalling was solid since The Force Awakens. Since then, every man , every single man was or 100% dependant on women or looked like a goofy, stupid (tell me what to do) kid and every woman was self-sufficient, strong, commandant, perfect, wise and brave. Even in the Battlefront new games. Every commander from the Resistance is woman, the best positions to play is obligated to play as woman. Do you want a stunning, brave, strong female lead? Well, take KILL BILL , LINDA HAMILTON'S T2, RIPLEY as examples. Strong female leads , who didn't need to bash and make men feel stupid to be awesome. Those movies brought unity, I can't remember a single male friend of mine bashing Uma Thurman, Sigourney or Linda or any other female lead in the 90's , and early 2000's. Political correctness, Vitual Signalling and identity politics are ruining movies, arts and dividing instead of empowering woman.
