Prices on Amazon goods would be cheaper

Maybe, but the government still has to keep them in check in order to prevent them from eating massive losses to undercut and destroy their competition. So, i don't think this would necessarily happen even if ease of doing business went up

You do realise that Amazon and Flipkart aren't the only ones which deserve to exist in the market, right? They're marketplaces and their only purpose is to outcompete and destroy not only local shops but also most of the informal economy which can't compete with their economy of scale. I do agree with FDI funding restrictions being eased tho.

The government's job is to also prevent overly aggressive and exploitative behaviour by big corps like Amazon and tbh their attempts, however feeble are better than the lassez faire destruction that it has been allowed to wreak in America.
