I honestly think one of the reasons why conservative media is so much more successful in terms of both ratings and in getting the public to believe their narratives is because conservatism appeals to lizard brain thinking of the human mind.

Conservativism is lacking in nuance and appeals to emotions and instinctual feelings, thus it gets more ratings and attention.

Conservatives get the luxury of both pushing their narratives and profiting from it.

Mainstream or "liberal" news can't do both of those things at the same time, which is why they have to resort to criticizing both sides even when it's not for criticism. Because it gets ratings and at the end of the day that's all that matters over actually balanced and honest reporting.
