i'm pretty glad to know that we're probably the last generation to have student debt tbh. I think so many people are aware of how stupid of an idea it is to take out massive loans that, at the very least, they'll find cheaper ways to attend college if they're not on scholarship (IE start out at CC and transfer to a 4 year University, or simply have a job while in college, etc.). 10-20 years ago I don't think it was very 'mainstream knowledge' and many parents, as well as society in general, highly pressured their kids into taking out massive loans

Having $10-25K of student debt sucks, but is manageable, and coming out the other side with a degree will be immensely useful, even if it doesn't really 'pay off' until your 30s

Having $50K of student debt means you better either be a literal Doctor, or you're stupid as fuck with money

Either way, Federal interest rate needs to be set to 0% and there needs to be more Federal scholarships for Community College or we might see the same problem coming up in 20 years
