A friend of mine is originally from Russia but has lived in the UK for many years now. Always puts me off when people online make generalised statements like "Russians in the west all support their regime anyway" like, no they don't necessarily, some of them are happy residents of their new country looking to become citizens who are wholly against Putin. I see several posts on social media to that effect from Russians in Britain and Brits of Russian descent from people I'm vaguely connected to.

I'm a huge Russia hawk and think we need to fight and punish the Russian state by supporting Ukraine but the weird hatred of all Russians online is not great
