Discussion Thread: 2020 General Election Daily Updates (October 30th)

Between you and whoever else might read this: please take care during this time. It’s a hard time right now without being in recovery. Go to meetings if that’s your thing. Have one specific quarantine buddy if you live alone and need human contact. Catch a couple therapy sessions for maintenance if you need it. Community mental health centers may be overloaded but they offer services free if you’re uninsured. There’s TONS of telehealth services out there now for therapy.

Find support in whatever ways you can. Pick up the phone for loved ones even when you don’t want to in the moment.

I’m a licensed mental health professional and I worked specifically with substance use from 2015-early 2020. It’s some of the most rewarding but heartbreaking work.
