[Discussion] I’ve seen articles about developed countries wanting more immigrants. Which have actively opened up their programs?

If you are considering permanent migration then Canada bar none. Instantly gives you PR without even having to put a single foot in the country or find a job if you full-fill the point-based requirements (you'll normally need degree + job experience + english/french exam).

Lot of people are mentioning Germany here and it's fairly easy in the global scale sure but it's still not instant like Canada's. You will have to find a job that sponsors Blue Card and spend a minimum of 21 months before you can apply for PR, or 4 years on work permit if you do not qualify for Blue Card. Sure, 21months or even 4 years isn't that long but it's still a lot more than instant for Canada.

Additionally, if you are looking for citizenship. Canada again gives this to you in just 3 years of getting PR while Germany makes you wait at least 6-8 years.

Source: Heavily researched different countries. Ended up moving to Germany because I want to live in Europe but was seriously considering Canada because it was sooooo much easier/quicker for permanent, skill-based immigration.
