[discussion]What is your current dog food? What do you want from a dog food or from a company?

My answer may be unpopular here, but a few weeks ago, I switched my dog to The Honest Kitchen's Keen formula. It's a raw "human grade" food, though this formula is not grain free (I believe they have a grain free version for each protein). They've only ever had one recall, back in 2013 and it was voluntary.

I've only had him for 2 months, but he's had stomach issues the entire time. I had originally tried feeding him Orijen and it wrecked his stomach. After boiled chicken and white rice made the problem worse, he was put on Hill's Prescription I/D formula by a second vet.

He was still having mushy poops, so I got the opinion of a third vet. We now think he has a chicken allergy, so she recommended The Honest Kitchen since they use single proteins. We also believe his stomach is just too sensitive for dry food.

In the short amount of time he's been on it, he's had so many improvements. His stools are actually normal now, but I wasn't expecting such a dramatic change in his coat. His fur was thin and dry before, but now it's thick and glossy.

He loves it too; His food dance has gotten even more intense since the switch and he inhales it as soon as it's on the ground. I'm really happy with it and plan to stick with it.
