Discussion: Is it wrong for rich countries to "hoard" vaccines?

Well, I have no idea what Canada is doing with 3x more than it needs.

But, the general idea that nations should slow down their own vaccination program so other countries can "catch up" is beyond insane.

For better or worse, we've collectively decided that society needs to burned to ashes unless most our nation's population is vaccinated. Your worried about the chance the virus might mutate? Cool. I'm worried about the reality that large sections of my city's children haven't received a single lesson in over an entire year. I'm worried about the reality that my city's economy is a burned out husk and will take years to recover under the best recovery scenarios. I'm my nation has been laying a worker off at the rate of about 1.5 per second, for an entire god damn year.

It sucks, but we need to take care of our own first. We aren't slowing slowing. We shouldn't give a single dose to a foreign nation until we feel ready to resume normal life. I'll take whatever risks that might require. Because the reality is my people are suffering more than these suffered since the the world wars. It needs to end. Now.
