Disney killed Star Wars, and that's a good thing.

Agreed I could care less about the Star Wars movies though, I care more about the other products like the games based off Star Wars. I've always liked the games because, like what you said above I always though the movies themselves were not that interesting, and the first one was only good because of the special effects.

So, I don't know if Star Wars movies are 'dead' per se, but the other media is dead because Disney and the companies working with them will just shit out anything to make a profit. I haven't liked any of the new Star Wars games that have come out since Disney bought the Star Wars IP because it feels like the love for making Star Wars games by the company founded by the creator of Star Wars with the specific intent of creating media to further explore the lore and universe of Star Wars has completely disappeared.

When Lucas Arts was in charge of making the games, it seemed like they were very protective of the brand and had a sort of quality control - for every 5 good star wars games there was one half average and one bad, and the games got me into the lore of Star Wars without having to watch the movies I felt boring. Now it seems like EA (now or soon to be Ubisoft) don't give a damn, and will shit out whatever for a quick cash grab.

So in the sense of other Star Wars media, I agree Disney killed Star Wars; don't know about the movies themselves. I mean people are watching the new series on Disney + alot, and the movies do still bring in alot of cash.
