A dissident musician dubbed the 'Lady Gaga' of Vietnam was locked in her home by plainclothes police Saturday after she flashed a sign reading "Piss on you Trump" as the US president arrived in town for a state visit

I meant a weak isolationist US is bad. I know well about the extent of US messing around, the brutality of its native policy, etc. but in asia where it s relevant to me, at least in the recent century, it was this beacon. Having lived under communist rule, I know the lesser of two evils. it s impossible to really change the communist rule unless the very top wills it. After WWII, those under US/allied occupation are generally much better off than communist occupied ones. communist is really bad for everyone who is not the rulers. seen too much. I m not saying democracy and capitalist dont have their own problem or are this paradise. No, they certainly are not. It's really by comparison, they stand out. Having followed US politics for some time, i know they have the problem like the fight for Net Neutrality and their share of problems. But they do have the means or at least the illusion to improve the situation. People in communist rule dont have even the illusion. The only way to really lower the risk of your children being abused or have a normal life is to go out. if u r curious, u can read about the recent stream of scandals like Xiecheng Kindergarten abuse, Hangzhou Nanny arson case, etc. Even the well to do/successful people couldnt escape. I dont mean stuff like car crashes. I mean basic stuff that affects everyone like building safety, food safety etc. And once someone become a victim, they have no way to get justice. The state will just hush it up, since it doesnt like scandals under their rule in general. The strength of one country really should reflect the happiness and security of its citzens. but in china, it s accepted as long as it gets the No.1 spot/maintaining communist rule, the citzens are treated as herds of animals, ready to be slaugtered(well, in some sense, the Chinese stock market\housing market is a state tool to do this, getting every cent of spare money from their citzens). that s my rationale why i praise westen democracies.

Trust me, people who desire a normal life in China where they can watch their favorite show, follow their favorite artists or live without fear of being streamrolled by state dont like that our leader is calculating and confident, since it just means a fate of cattle. there r signs of Cultural revolution 2.0 all over again. Kindergarten kids have to watch Xi speak and memorise the speech.
