The Division Update 1.4 – Give Feedback, Make a Difference

Hello guys,

Here's my two cents. As a player that loves both first person shooters, third person shooters, and RPGs alike, I honestly want to see the division bloom into something wonderful. Everyone is mentioning D3 and destiny, which is wonderful, but the division is a military/special forces shooter. I grew up playing tom clancy's raven shield. I poured hundreds of hours into that shooter. Playing first offline solo, and then online with friends and strangers. I played mostly terrorist hunt and limited pvp. It was a great feel, guns feel awesome and powerful, the enemy felt vulnerable and I felt vulnerable, and there was always tension. When I saw the first e3 trailer, here were the impressions I got: enemies went down fairly fast, allies went down around the same speed, gear was secondary to skills, tactics, and teamwork, maps and gameplay was immersive, and turrets and drones were amazing. The police station raid was intense! And when they dropped the flare to get the gear out, other players were able to zone in, something I thought was akin to dark souls and demon souls, another very successful game. The playing was a living and breathing dynamic world that reacted to your presence. People would come attack you, and I imagined AI would come invade as well! I half expected group of AI controlled enemies would show up and invade midway while recouping at the police station. That would be something else. So can you bring that back? I know most of reddit and the remaining players are hardcore min/maxers but don't ignore the people that love shooters. Bring back the tension of vulnerability, peeking around the corner and possibly getting shot in the face to death. Make gear secondary to skills and tactics, work on the AI, create more enemy types, and decrease the gap between the gear levels. The less gear and min/maxing matters, the less people would get kicked for gear score, the less wall of difficulty you would experience when moving to the next level, the less frustrating the gameplay etc. Underground has the right idea, I love the idea of exploring new places, and the tension of exploring dark underground areas unfamiliar to me. Placement of enemies should be unpredictable, and enemies can show up anywhere at any time. Horde mode events are tedious and boring (i.e. Falcon Lost), and enemies need to be less bullet spongey and far more vulnerable. My guns sound powerful ingame and feel great, but the fantasy and immersion breaks once I can’t kill anything with X amount of bullets to the head on a gangster wearing a sweatshirt (reason: level 34 hoodie warrior). Rainbow Six Siege has great replay value because of the intense tension that everyone gets because it’s shoot first or die. And please make turrets and ballistic shield a thing at level 30. It’s silly that the game which has so limited skill variety is limited even further by ineffective or bugged skills.
