The Division will have no micro-transactions; On paid DLC - "We don’t have it yet because we’re just barely finishing the game"

The player base is at fault...

Definitely. I don't mean to rag on any demographic or be an elitist, but from my experience, Destiny is filled with the type of people who are new to gaming and see nothing wrong with the stunts that Bungie/Acti pulls because to them, it is the "norm".

From observing the people I raided with ( I used to play Destiny but I quit after DLC II, and quit again after playing The Taken King for a week), I am guessing a lot of the demographic is older dudes in their early to late 20s who see gaming in the same light as TV; content that isn't deep or interesting but is good at killing time w/friends or alone. They're people who put their life first, and secondary hobby as their passion. For us, gaming is our passion (or maybe not, but you take the time to log into gaming forums/websites), but for this type of demographic ( I don't know what it's called, I just know the general trends/characteristics), it's definitely not gaming (or it is, but don't really care about anything else more than what's on the cover), and therefore, they're susceptible to the abusing of microdlc and meager amount of content in Destiny because they don't know any better.

Because of this, I can't help but feel that large AAA companies will start thinking it's ok to treat games and gamers in the same way that Bungie treats Activision and pull the same bullshit they do.

That's all I can add to be honest. I'm not saying this to make it "us" vs "them", or how the demographic I talked about are "dirty filthy casuals", but rather make light as to who is playing Destiny and try to explore as to why Bungie is getting money like they are now (and also why they pull the bullshit they pull).
