The only pet trainer who does not use positive reinforcement is that hack, self proclaimed dog trainer Caesar Milan. Yet, non of his tactics worked, because all the dogs did was fear him... for his abusive training methods, not to mention he got sued.. Anyway. Every dog trainer out there will tell you, coupling negative and positive training methods confuses the dog. And they will also tell you that positive reinforcement works, not negative. I never said dogs have no intelligence. Where'd that come from ? I only said dogs thrive on positive reinforcement. Making an animal fear you, doesnt do you or the dog any good. You're clueless on this man... I'm sorry. As far as cats getting on counters, well, mine only went on the counters when I wasn't around. Spraying a cat to keep it off the counter ... How often do you have to do that ? I had a friend who used that method ... never worked. LOL. At least you're spraying them with water and not (hopefully) hitting them.
