Agreed - if you go down the narc youtube rabbit hole, you find them list all of these symptoms for NPD that could be just as explainable with ADHD, other mood disorders, emotional dysregulation issues from trauama, etc. It's honestly just a fad and it helps people cope but I don't think it's a very healthy discourse. It just about always takes two to tango and I think dysfunctional relationships usually always come about from two people who need too much from the other, and aren't good enough at supporting themselves. To boil that down to narcissism / codependency (or "empath" eyeroll) for every situation does a huge disservice to what people are actually going through.
