I feel like the dlc is designed to replace the 1 year remakes that the games always get, so instead of Ultra Sword and Ultra Shield, we’re getting the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra each at half the cost of a while game.

It’s kind of scummy in that some people might not buy the remade versions of the game because they’re usually similar enough that it feels acceptable to buy one or the other, where in this situation it’s literally two different and completely new areas to visit in continuation of the existing story which require you to make that follow up purchase (what a long sentence...).

I was happy with the main story, and even if it does feel skeletal to some the switch is a great platform because they can update and push out additional dlc. And if my theory is correct that IoA and CT are going to replace the remakes, then additional smaller dlc probably won’t cost anything.
