As a DM, how do you react when a player questions the logic of your world?

This is why I don’t DM homebrew words anymore.

I had created an island society that all of the players were going to start in. It was a militaristic society that spawned a lot of mercenaries that were often rented out as party of their mandatory military service. It was the main economic force on the island, and allowed for a rather well off lifestyle for the islanders.

Immediately one of my players starts going on about what a horrible society it was, it would never work in the real world, they were enslaved people benefiting the rich, etc. etc.

I just ignored him, and the first chance he got, he murdered the crown prince because “this country is stupid and needs a change”. The king was still very much alive and in charge.

Anyway, that was the end of my homebrew career.
