DMs, have you ever used 'Rocks fall, everyone dies' or something similar on your players? What did they do to deserve it?

White Plume Mountain with a party of 6. (WPM SPOILERS) They decided to split up at the first crossroads in the dungeon, and things went downhill from there. The Cleric, who wearing fullplate, decided to go for a leaping running jump through the "Long Hallway with large copper-coloured metal plates lining the wall". She was cooked alive and landed unconscious and dying in the room on the other side. A room that had a secret door which unleashed a swarm of ghouls. A party member managed to rush to the Cleric and got her up just as it happened, and the Cleric then proceeded to cast "Turn Undead". Which turns out, doesn't work because these ghouls are specifically wearing amulets that make them immune to the ability. So they ran away through the only other passageway. Right into the frictionless trap room, which saw them slipping and sliding across the floor while ghouls chased after them. They all ended up dropping into a spike pit, which was then filled up with angry ghouls, and two unfortunate players.
