Do doctors not care about drunks?

Have you ever gotten an EKG? How old are you and how long have you had this pain? Does it happen at a specific time or when you’re doing any specific activity?

I’m sorry the ER isn’t doing more to help you figure out what’s going on. There are a lot of medical professionals who treat addicts like shit. When they know you’re an alcoholic/addict/whatever, they consider everything you say with skepticism. They have undoubtedly had addict patients who exaggerated or lied because they were drug-seeking. Though that does not excuse the behavior at all, it plays a big part in the treatment of addicts in hospital settings. Some of them truly don’t understand that addiction is a disease while others are just jaded. Either way, you SHOULD seek medical help for chest pain. If you can’t get help at an ER, try a clinic or private practice who can hopefully do more testing and determine if there is something that needs treatment.
