I think doctors prescribe painkillers more easily to women

My uncle is a doctor and we always consult him first whenever any medical issue comes up, even for the issues which are not his speciality. A few years ago when I was in college I asked and basically force convinced my dad that I need to visit a psychologist. My life has been far from perfect and I was diagnosed with clinical depression and PTSD. I was prescribed medication but my uncle strongly suggested not to take them, I did anyway and I became better. A few months earlier, my sister had some panic attacks and he himself reached out to her and provided him with medication.

Still makes me wonder if I had taken my uncle's advice where I would be.
