Does anybody else get fed up with "you need to go to therapy" answers on the relationship subreddits?

For an actual serious problem yes you should have therapy. But I think in America and Canada they just seem to see it as a magical cure all for even the most minor issues. (Especially with middle and upper class people).

I have family in the states, my cousin once get a red card in a football (soccer) game at his school. Basically he got fouled by a slide tackle and kicked out in anger afterwards. The school made him attend therapy for anger issues! For something that happens in every other school football game I have ever played in or watched! (From what my cousin told me basically some hippy women asked him what caused the anger, assuming it was a by product of something else in his life, not just a spur of the moment reaction to being fouled lol. She then taught him some amazing techniques likes breathing exercises).
