Does anybody else find themselves not finishing games as often as they once did?

I'm the same. Even long time favourites like ADOM have lost it for me.

I booted ADOM for a game recently. Found myself sleep walking through the early stages of the game - kill a beggar first, yes, guaranteed altar this way, HMV shortcut open fast, druid dungeon quest for the torc as ratling fodder, slam down to the arena as fast as possible, etc. Automatic recognition of what walls and dungeon structures are most likely to have secret doors, don't even think about stepping to the side when opening doors because of a trap, oh, that's clearly the moon sickle, the sword with that weight is probably made of eternium, oh, I died, quick rework of a character and get back into it, no problems, etc.

Realised I'd been playing for something like 20 years, and that it honestly wasn't fun any more. I'd just done it so much that even though I still like it as a concept, even procedural generated dungeons aren't fun anymore. And that's what other games are beginning to feel like - procedurally generated games, just using chunks from random other games whenever it seems appropriate. Very little input from the game and I can probably find my way.
