Does anyone have an emotional connection to their bong/pipes?

I moved to a legal state a few years ago to get a degree. A year into it, my girlfriend of 4 years broke up with me. Another 6 months later, my mom died of cancer.

I had never smoked in my life. Then I met 2 cool dudes who were daily smokers. They introduced me to cannabis, encouraged me to finish out school and exercise. The first time I got high with them, we used my buddy's pipe. That started an almost daily tradition of late evening toking sessions after a long day of school, work and gym. With a lot of support from them, I finished my degree, lost 60 pounds and did ok with the ladies. When I moved back home, my buddy gave me that pipe as a parting gift.

We're all in different cities now, but whenever I start to get down, I take out that pipe. What I remember most is all the stoner movies we watched: Half Baked, Super Troopers, Harold & Kumar, Dazed & Confused, Big Lebowski. I had watched all the movies before, but I had a totally different perspective of them watching them super stoned with my buddies, especially because of the camaraderie and shenanigans in all those movies.

I know it's just a piece of glass, but I'm attached to it because it helps me re-set when I start to lose perspective.
