Does anyone know of any children's speech therapy resources accessible to families of modest means?

The parents are members of the team. They need to advocate for themselves and their child to get the services they think they need. Parents are experts on their child, they will know more then any school team member ever can... that said, 30 mins/ a week is pretty low. Tell them to bring in any/ all research they have that would support having more services. However schools do not want to hurt students, they may have other reasons for providing less services...so keep an open mind about that and be open to the "other side" (so to speak).

They can call an IEP/ IFSP meeting at any time, they don't need to wait for the yearly meeting, that is their right as a team member. Schools will usually hold the meeting within 30 days.

I still feel like there is something else going on here, but good luck! Schools truly want students to be successful - I can not imagine that they would intentionally do anything to stall a child's progress but sometimes what a school thinks and what a family thinks just aren't on the same page, so that's where being really informed and knowledgeable about your child/ their needs are important.
