Does anyone know anything about Gera?

Well for one, I'm 17 and am still in 11th grade. So maybe 1/2 more years until I can apply for a university somewhere nicer. The few nice places are for example one cafe that opened a year ago in the city. It's a meeting/safe-space for all sorts of people and I love going there with friends or alone to just enjoy a bit of my time or learn some stuff, it was opened by a former two-star which is really open minded and put a little faith in the city to create this positive place. That place has a nice little community. I'd say the "Hofwiesenpark" is also quite enjoyable to just spend a chill say in. Racism is quite a big thing here. I've seen it a bunch at my old school even sometimes underlying from teachers. I see/hear a lot of people starting to talk or act real weird when foreigners are around/walk past. You see skinheads walking around from time to time as well. So yeah the city definitely has some nazis, probably more than most cities of its size. Ah and also the city has one of the worst economies in east Germany and you really see that when walking around the city, so many empty run down houses, streets and places there.
