Does anyone care to share an interesting home town murder?

I went to high school with a kid who was always kind of a loner, on the outskirts of the class. My friend was on the baseball team with him for one season but other than that no one really knew him that well. He was always skipping school, and didn't really have any close friends.

The last month of his senior year, one week before graduation, he was arrested for the murder of one of the town's most beloved community figures. She ran a bunch of charities, had several scholarships set up for the high school, and just all around a nice matriarch of the town.

He broke into her house, murdered her in cold blood, and made out with a whopping $125. He got caught because he stole her car and was seen driving it around town when everyone knew it was hers!

Now he's doing life in prison.
