Does anyone have a drawer at work with a bottle/decanter of scotch/whiskey and 2 glasses in it?

I've a cabinet with some spirits & a cigar box, as well as a mini fridge freezer with some soft drinks too, as well as tea & coffee facilities. I frequently have clients & associates who I meet with & I like to make sure all common preferences are covered, as it helps business (usually energy/industrial sector, sometimes misc.)

Noone's getting pissed; it's just a small drink or two some'll choose to have while we go over things.

Some have tea or coffee, coke (the liquid kind, mind), water or even nothing at all; I make an offer as we sit down & perhaps one more half an hour in, then just say 'let me know if you need anything' after that point.

We've gotten through maybe two dozen cigars this year, of which I've probably had five or six at most. I rarely smoke anything else, but it's a nice occasional treat. Again, they're more for clients than myself, but in the interests of being personable, I'll sometimes partake.

The office is regularly cleaned, air conditioned, ventilated & so on; you essentially wouldn't even know it'd been smoked in, unless you checked forensically. All reasonable precautions are taken with 'rona, too.

I know that there's been a decrease in popularity with this sort of stuff over the last couple of decades, especially with corporate red tape, etc, but I'm self-employed & act reasonably in this regard, as well as taking precautions so that I know the temperament of those who I'm meeting with (which partly involves having met elsewhere beforehand). My office isn't a place for parties, it's a place to get shit done, with which a comfortable, holistic environment is beneficial.

I can see how some would look at this & presume I view myself as one of those classic braggadocious mavericks from movies of old, but it couldn't be further from the truth. If anything, acting in that fashion is increasingly more likely to be counter-productive for business, as it's not the twentieth century any more & things change.
